GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay volleyball program is set to host a series of camps and clinics this summer, beginning with a hitting clinic on June 12 and concluding with a fundamental skills camp July 11-13. All camps will be held at the Kress Events Center on the UW-Green Bay campus.
Each of the seven camps and clinics will be directed by Phoenix head coach Debbie Kirch and assistant coach Sarah Rauen. Staff will include members of the Green Bay volleyball team, area high school coaches and Green Bay volleyball alumni.

Hitting Clinic: Grades 8-10, June 12
Clinic will focus on all aspects of hitting -- from the armswing, to the approach, to position specific training. Campers will be divided by age.
Serving Clinic: Grades 8-10, June 19
Serving is one of the most important skills in volleyball. It is the skill used to initiate every rally. But not enough time is spent practicing the skill. This clinic will not only give campers a chance to master the skill of serving, but also learn serving strategies. Campers will be divided by age.
Ball Control Clinic: Grades 8-10, June 26
Clinic will focus on all ball control including defensive technique, emergency techniques, serve receive and free ball passing. Be ready to hit the floor! Campers will be divided by age.
Setting Clinic: Grades 8-10, June 26
Clinic will focus on the setting position. It will include basic technique training, footwork drills, some advanced setting skills and decision-making training. Campers will be divided by age.
High Intensity Camp: Grades 11-12+, July 8-10
This camp will cover more advanced techniques at a much higher intensity than the fundamental skills camp. Instruction will include fundamental training in all skills and position specialization, but also more "team-oriented" drills. Campers will be divided by age.
Junior High Camp: Grades 6-8, July 11-13
Campers will receive instruction in all the individual skills of volleyball (passing, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, etc.). Technique will be geared towards the appropriate age and skill level. Campers will also get a chance to use the skills in game-like situations. Campers will be divided by age.
Fundamental Skills Camp: Grades 9-10, July 11-13
Campers will receive instruction in all the individual skills of volleyball (passing, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, etc.) and then integrate them into team-oriented drills. Campers will work on all skills as well as specialize by position. Fundamentals are emphasized. Campers will be divided by age.
