MILWAUKEE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay volleyball team announced its 2013 team awards on Thursday night, and also handed out its postseason Horizon League hardware at a team dinner in Milwaukee.

Senior Leah Van Zeeland (Kaukauna, Wis.) was recognized as Green Bay's MVP, senior Sabrina Marunowski (Milwaukee, Wis.) earned the Hustle Award, sophomore Taylor Kasal (Westmont, Ill.) received the Coaches Award and sophomore Sophie Jaskulske (Maplewood, Minn.) was given the Most Improved Player award.

The Phoenix had four postseason Horizon League awards, the most in any single season in school history. Sophomores Jillian Bauer (Verona, Wis.) and Emily Riese (Fond du Lac, Wis.), along with Van Zeeland, were named to the 14-member All-Horizon League Team, while freshman Shannon Hurley (Connellsville, Pa.) was named Freshman of the Year.

The fourth-seeded Phoenix opens the 2013 Horizon League Championship on Friday at 4:30 p.m. against fifth-seeded Youngstown State at the Klotsche Center on the UW-Milwaukee campus.
