Junior Carmen Leitermann led Green Bay with 10 kills.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay volleyball team overcame a slow start to win set three Saturday afternoon, but the Phoenix could not overcome a fired up Cleveland State team on Senior Day, dropping its regular season finale 3-1 25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 25-12). Junior Carmen Leitermann (Schofield, Wis.) tallied 10 kills while junior Brittany Groth (Oak Creek, Wis.) had a match-high 34 digs.

Groth, who broke the program's school record for digs in a season on Friday night, raised her total to 632 with another impressive outing. The libero now has 30 or more digs in six matches this season, including three of the last five.

After dropping the first two sets, Green Bay rallied from a 19-9 hole in the third set. The Phoenix took its first lead of the set on a kill from senior Kelly Mischler (Kaukauna, Wis.) to make it 24-23, and a CSU attack error gave Green Bay the set.

Leitermann added five blocks while senior Carlie Willison (Greenfield, Wis.) and sophomore Leah Van Zeeland (Kaukauna, Wis.) added 14 and 11 digs, respectively.

With the regular season in the books, Green Bay will head to the Horizon League Championship in Milwaukee as the No. 6 seed. The Phoenix will play third-seeded Butler at 7 p.m. CT at the Klotsche Center.
