GREEN BAY, Wis. ( - The Green Bay women's tennis team was dealt a pair of 7-0 losses over the weekend, falling at Milwaukee on Friday before dropping a home contest to Chicago State on Saturday. Saturday's match against the Cougars began a stretch of six straight at Western Racquet and Fitness Club.

Sophomore Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) had a solid weekend at the No. 1 singles spot, battling hard and playing strong tennis in a pair of defeats. Londre first dropped a 6-2, 6-2 contest against Milwaukee's Diana Tokar and then suffered a 6-1, 7-5 result against CSU's Kirsa Utech.

"Stephanie knew the level of competition she would come up against at No. 1 singles and she worked hard at practice this past month," Phoenix head coach Sommer May said. "She trusted in her game and gave her opponent tough matches. She proved to me, her opponents and to herself that she has the ability to compete at a high level of play."

Freshman Claudia Negron (Lima, Peru) picked up Green Bay's lone singles set victory of the weekend on Saturday, defeating Chicago State's Hanna Pangestu 6-1 in the opener. Pangestu rebounded, however, and grabbed the 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 win.

The Phoenix will play its next five matches at home, beginning with contests against Horizon League opponents Detroit (March 22) and Oakland (March 23).
