Thursday's Softball Doubleheader Against North Dakota Cancelled

GREEN BAY, Wis. ( - Due to rain and the forecast for storms the remainder of the day, Thursday's softball doubleheader between Green Bay and North Dakota has been cancelled. The teams were slated to play a pair of games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The contests will not be rescheduled.

The Phoenix (21-25, 10-11 Horizon League) will return to action on Saturday with a pair of conference games against Youngstown State (1 p.m. and 3 p.m.) before wrapping up the regular season against the Penguins (27-16, 11-9 Horizon League) on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Saturday is Senior Day and Parents Day, as the Green Bay softball program will be recognizing its four seniors - Amanda Omahen (San Diego, Calif.), Amanda Pozolinski (Appleton, Wis.), Ashleigh Racer (Waterford, Wis.) and Alli Rivera (Geneseo, Ill.) - as well as the parents of the Phoenix players.

Green Bay is battling for one of the six spots in the 2012 Horizon League Softball Championship, held May 9-12. The Phoenix is currently holding onto the sixth and final spot, while its weekend opponent Youngstown State is in fourth.
