GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay (16-19, 5-7 HL) softball team looks to strike out Muscular dystrophy (MD) Saturday, April 21 as it hosts Cleveland State (13-31, 5-7 HL) in a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. at Ben Garot Field.
The Phoenix will be selling t-shirts recognizing MD at both contests for $10 each in addition to a 50/50 raffle. Local Green Bay softball fan Ben Junion, who suffers from MD, will participate in a ceremonial first pitch in Saturday's contest. Proceeds from the event will benefit MD needs in the Green Bay area.
MD is a group of muscle diseases that weaken the musculoskeletal system and hamper locomotion over time. There are nine major types of MD.
The Phoenix and Vikings will wrap up its series Sunday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m.
