Mother Nature Delays Softball Homestand
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay (18-18, 5-10 HL) softball team will play six games over the next week against Horizon League opponents with the anticipation of keeping its postseason hopes alive for the Horizon League Championship.
The Phoenix has not only had to battle opponents on the field this season but also Mother Nature. To date, Green Bay's lone home games this year were two wins against South Dakota State on April 14. Its recent three-game series sweep against Detroit on April 23 and 24 was moved to Alverno College in Milwaukee due to the spring snowfall in Green Bay.
With the recent rainfall, Green Bay's three-game series scheduled to begin Wednesday against UIC (19-18, 9-6 HL) has been pushed back to Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a doubleheader. The series will wrap up Friday, April 29 at 12:00 p.m.
Admission to all games is free and will be held at Ben Garot Field.
