Mehryn Kraker Honored with Horizon League Player of the Week Award

GREEN BAY, Wis. ( – After a strong showing to open conference action, Mehryn Kraker has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. 

Kraker led the Phoenix in victories over Northern Kentucky and Wright State with huge performance last week. She averaged 22.5 PPG and shot 17-for-24 (70.8%), including a 7-of-10 mark from long range, while averaging 27.5 minutes per game.

Against Wright State, Kraker poured in 17 points in the first quarter of play and shot a perfect 6-6 from the field and 5-5 from three-point range. She would go on to finish with a season-high 28 points in the win.

Kraker has been a constant for the Phoenix in its 11-2 start to the season, as the Wisconsin native leads the team with 18.0 points per game. She is also shooting a team-high 57.7% from the field and ranks second on the team in assists with 52 this season.

This marks the fifth Horizon League weekly award of Kraker's career.

The Phoenix will return to action on the road this week, taking on Valparaiso on Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. and UIC on Jan 7 at 3 p.m.
