In his third season at UW-Green Bay, Tony Pierce continues to aid in the success of the Phoenix.

A former goalkeeper for the Milwaukee Wave, Pierce has aided the Phoenix keepers in registering a second-straight standout season between the pipes in 2005. Since his arrival, the team's goals-against average has dropped from 2.44 prior to his arrival to 1.13 last fall.

One of the winningest goalkeepers in the history of the National Professional Soccer League, Pierce was a seven-year member of the Wave, appearing in 178 games and posting 71 wins. The three-time all-pro also served as the team's Director of Community Relations for six years.

While in Milwaukee, Pierce was also a member of the UW-Milwaukee coaching staff, serving as the goalkeeping coach for the Panthers from 1987 to 1991 before assuming the position of assistant men's soccer coach for two seasons at UWM.

Pierce has had head coaching stints at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Concordia University-River Forest (Ill.) and Midland College. He earned his United States Soccer Federation "A" License in 2002. Pierce is also a 26-year staff member of the nationwide Joe Machnik's #1 Soccer CAMPS, where he currently is a premier staff member.

A student-athlete at the University of Connecticut from 1980 to 1984, Pierce was a member of the Huskies' 1981 NCAA Division I Championship soccer squad. Pierce also had a part in a pair of national semifinal appearances for UConn in 1982 and 1983.

Born in Detroit before moving to the St. Louis area, Pierce has two daughters: Pearl (13) and Hanna (8).
