Reinke Takes Third, Men's Golf Places Fifth at League Championships
ORLANDO, Fla. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Senior Ryan Reinke led the Green Bay men's golf team at the Horizon League Championships in Orlando, Fla., in the Final Round, shooting 1-under par and placing third individually. The Phoenix finished fifth overall, the team's highest finish since the 2013 season, after shooting a 299 in the final round.
Reinke's third-place finish is the highest individual finish for a Green Bay golfer since Chad Ebert won the tournament back in 2012. The senior fired off rounds of 73-73-71, finishing 1-over for the tournament. Reinke recorded 10 birdies and one eagle in the tournament.
The team shot its best round on Tuesday, recording a 299 at the El Campeon Course in Howey-In-The-HIlls. Green Bay started the day in fifth place and remained there, finishing seven strokes ahead of sixth-place Detroit Mercy.
Cleveland State won the tournament at 23-over par, with Anton Krecic win the individual trophy.
Senior Joe Du Chateau shot a final round 75 to move up into a tie for 10th place. Du Chateau finished his Green Bay career with rounds of 78-72-75, wrapping up a solid career.
George Kneiser shot a final round 75, moving up three spots to 21st overall. Kneiser finished 16-over par for the tournament.
