CLEVELAND, Ohio. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) –  Trevor Anderson knocked down a key free throw with 5.8 seconds left in overtime to give Green Bay the 76-75 victory on the road at Cleveland State on Thursday night, giving his team a 1-0 start in Horizon League play to start the season.

Anderson lost control of the ball while looking to attack, regained control and was fouled by Rob Edwards with 5.8 seconds left in the overtime period. Anderson converted the first free throw before missing the second. Cleveland State (4-9, 0-1 HL) then pushed the ball up court, but after Edwards kicked it to the corner the time ran out and Green Bay made it a perfect three-for-three in overtime games this season.

In his first ever game coming off the bench for the Phoenix, Charles Cooper scored a team-high 19 points, including three big free throws in overtime. Kerem Kanter recorded his second-straight double double, notching 11 points and 14 rebounds after once again receiving the start from head coach Linc Darner.

The Phoenix defense held Cleveland State to 3-for-11 shooting in the overtime period and forced 20 turnovers in the game. Turner Botz knocked down four 3s in the game, going 4-for-8 from deep in the game.

Green Bay trailed by as many as 13 points in the game, but hung around before taking its first lead in the second half.
