Cross Country Competes at UW-Parkside's Rosa Invite
KENOSHA, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -- The men's and women's cross country teams competed in UW-Parkside's Lucian Rosa Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Kenosha, Wis., Green Bay's second meet of the season at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The men's team finished third in the meet, while the women finished sixth out of the 12 participating teams.
The men's squad was led by Mitchell Bilitz for the fourth-straight meet of the season, as the junior claimed fourth-place overall with a time of 25:58. The men's team also received top-20 finishes from senior Eric Bilitz (16th overall, 26:40) and junior Erik Johnson (20th overall, 26:49).
On the women's side, Kimberly Hurst paced the Phoenix with an 11th-place finish and crossed the line in 23:25. Breanna Suess was the second Phoenix runner to complete the 6K, doing so in 23:50 and finishing 27th overall. On the heels of Suess was freshman Meta Ehlen, who finished 42nd overall in 24:31.
The Phoenix will have less than one week's time before returning to the course on Friday, Oct. 14 in Peoria, Ill., for the Bradley Invitational.
