Golf Programs Welcome Six Newcomers for 2016-17
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Director of Men’s and Women’s Golf for the Green Bay Phoenix, Lee Reinke, is excited to announce the additions of three women’s players and three men’s players to his roster for the upcoming 2016-17 season. All six of Reinke’s recruiting class come from the state of Wisconsin, with each individual bringing in a list of accolades and achievements at the high school level.
Joining the Phoenix this season on the men’s side will be Brady Sarauer from Fond du Lac, George Kneiser from Oconomowoc and Patrick Sicula from Whitefish Bay. The additions on the women’s side include Alix Larson from Oconomowoc, Sophia Mazurek from Germantown and Kailey Vogel from New Berlin.
Brady Sarauer, fresh off his WSGA Junior Boys Championship on Aug. 3, joins the Phoenix from St. Mary’s Springs Academy. Sarauer was named First Team All-Conference all four years in high school and was named Co-Player of the Year in conference his junior season. He finished in the top 10 at State in both his junior and senior seasons, while finishing in the top 25 his freshman and sophomore years.
Other accolades: Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin Academic All-State (So., Jr., Sr.); First Team All-Area (Jr., Sr.); Third Team All-State (Jr.); Honorable Mention All-State (So., Sr.); Member of WIAA Division 3 State Championship Team (Jr., Sr.); USA Today Northeast Wisconsin Sports Awards Boys Golfer of the Year finalist; Regional Medalist (So., Jr.); Sectional Medalist (So., Jr., Sr.); Represented Team Wisconsin in the 2016 WI/MN Junior Cup matches.
George Kneiser comes to the Phoenix from Oconomowoc High School, where he was named Team MVP in the last three years of his high school career. Kneiser was runner-up for Player of the Year honors in the Wisconsin Little Ten Conference. He was named to the Milwaukee All-Area Golf Team in his junior and senior seasons, while taking third at the WPGA Junior Championships this past season.
Other accolades: First Team All-Conference (Jr.); Academic All-State (Jr., Sr.); 52nd place at WIAA State Championships (Sr.); T-4th at WIAA Sectionals (Sr.); WPGA WI Cup Team selection (Sr.); 3rd-place at WPGA Junior Championships (Sr.)
Patrick Sicula joins Green Bay by way of Whitefish Bay High School where he earned North Shore Conference honors in all four of his high school seasons. Sicula was named his conference’s player of the year in both his junior and sophomore seasons, while also garnering All-State honors in multiple seasons.

Alix Larson also comes from Oconomowoc High School, after earning First Team All-Conference her Senior and Junior seasons. Larson represented the USA in Australia from the state of Wisconsin and placed second individually in the All-American Tournament and also holds the OHS school record for best 18-hole score with a 74.
Other accolades: Third Team All-Conference (So.); WIAA Sectional Qualifier (So., Jr., Sr.); Holds the top two best 9-hole scores in OHS history with a 35 and 36; National Honor Society; Social Studies Honor Society; Communication Humanitarian Award; Scholar Athlete.

Sophia Mazurek joins the Phoenix by way of Germantown High School, where she was named Team MVP and was a varsity letter-winner in all four years of her high school career. Mazurek was named Second Team All-Conference and also landed on the High School Honor Roll at GHS. She also qualified as individual for WIAA Sectionals her junior and senior seasons.

Kailey Vogel comes from New Berlin Eisenhower High School and was named Third Team All-Conference her senior year and also served as team captain. Vogel was also a member of SALT (Student Athletic Leadership Team) her junior and senior seasons.
