GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Newly-appointed head coach Kacey Burke has named Ally Bales her assistant coach of the Green Bay women’s soccer program, as both will now enter their first seasons on the bench for the Phoenix.

Bales comes to Green Bay following a stint as the assistant coach at Anderson University in South Carolina, where she assisted in all of the day-to-day activities of the Trojans. On the field, she worked with the team’s keepers during practice and pregame warm-ups.

“I am thrilled to be back in Wisconsin and excited to be at Green Bay. I can’t wait to help our student-athletes develop both on and off the field,” said Bales. “I couldn’t ask for a better situation than to be working with a coach of Kacey’s caliber.”

Over the past calendar year, Bales has spent the majority of her time working with a pair of youth soccer programs in South Carolina. She served as the Under-10 Head Coach of the Clemson Anderson Soccer Alliance, while also handling assistant coach duties for the 00’s ODP Team of the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association.

A native of New Berlin, Wis., Bales began her coaching career at Defiance College in Ohio. She served as assistant coach of the women’s soccer program from 2011-12. Bales also spent time giving private lessons, working in ticket sales and even worked at Don Beebe’s House of Speed in Milwaukee.

“I am extremely excited about the addition of Ally Bales to our Green Bay women’s soccer staff. Her coaching experience, knowledge of the local soccer landscape and her passion for mentoring student-athletes will prove invaluable for our program,” Burke said.

Bales enjoyed a successful playing career at Dallas Baptist, where she served as team captain and was twice named All-American. She was a three-time All-Conference player and was named a scholarship athlete in each of her four seasons at DBU.
