GREEN BAY, Wis. ( – With nearly two months left in the 2013-14 fiscal year, the Phoenix Fund – the principal fund for student-athlete scholarships and program support for Green Bay Athletics – has soared past $500,000 in donations.

Thanks to the generous support of loyal and passionate Phoenix Fund members, $524,984 have been raised. The Phoenix Fund is a critical component of Green Bay Athletics, providing resources for scholarships, team travel, equipment, academic support and many other components of a successful Division I athletics program. These dollars directly impact the development of Phoenix student-athletes, putting them in a position to succeed both academically and athletically and ultimately graduate with a degree in the field of their choice.

“Once again, our donors and fans have answered the call for support,” Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie said. “I’m proud of our volunteers and staff who help tell the story and our coaches who continue to recruit quality student-athletes who people want to support. We can and will compete for championships and the support of the Phoenix Fund helps make it all possible.”
