Softball Weekend Series Against Oakland Postponed

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Due to the threat of rain all weekend in the Green Bay area, the Phoenix Horizon League softball series against Oakland has been postponed.
No make-up information has been announced, but the two teams will attempt to reschedule in the upcoming weeks.
The Phoenix will now look forward to a weekday non-conference doubleheader at in-state rival Wisconsin on Wednesday. The game will be broadcast nationally on the Big Ten Network.
Green Bay is 16-7 this season and owns a 3-2 record in the Horizon League. Five Phoenix are hitting over .300 for the season, led by sophomore Marissa Michalkiewicz (Appleton, Wis.) who is hitting a team-best .378 with 28 hits, five doubles, three triples and three home runs with 25 RBI. Senior Miranda Reinke (Milwaukee, Wis.) has a team-best eight doubles and is hitting .368, while junior Hailey Mohrfeld (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) leads the team with 22 runs scored while also hitting .368.
In the circle, senior Ashley Nannemann (Burlington, Wis.) is 5-4 in 12 appearances with nine starts, posting a 1.87 ERA in 60.0 innings of work. Junior Lauren Danner (Kaukauna, Wis.) has a team-leading 0.65 ERA in 21.2 innings while freshman Heather Sanderson (Rapid River, Mich.) leads the team with 39 strikeouts.
