Swimming & Diving Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-American Honors
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were recently recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic success during the Fall 2013 semester, as both squads earned Team Scholar All-American Honors. CSCAA Scholar All-American status is awarded to teams with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
“Striving for success in the pool while demonstrating success in the classroom is what the student-athlete experience is all about,” Phoenix head coach Jim Merner said. “I continue to be very proud of our teams’ efforts in both areas.”
The Phoenix women earned a 3.24 team GPA in the fall, and the men’s squad posted a 3.03, helping Green Bay Athletics achieve a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or better for the 28th-straight semester. The complete list of teams honored can be found on the CSCAA website.
The Team Scholar All-American award is presented twice annually (Fall and Spring) to teams achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
