Green Bay to Host Belmont on Tuesday in NIT Opener

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Making its first appearance in the National Invitation Tournament in 22 years, the Green Bay men’s basketball team has earned the No. 4 seed in the St. John’s quadrant and will play host to fifth-seeded Belmont on Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m. CT at the Resch Center.
Green Bay (24-6) earned an automatic bid into the NIT by virtue of winning the Horizon League regular season title. In non-conference play, the Phoenix posted victories over ACC champion Virginia and Conference USA champion Tulsa and then won 14 of 16 games in league action. Belmont (24-9) won the regular season title in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Bruins resume includes road wins at No. 12/11 North Carolina and Middle Tennessee State.
Tickets will go on-sale to men’s basketball season ticket holders at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. Season ticket holders will have until noon to guarantee their seats. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at noon and can be purchased at the Resch Center Ticket Office, by calling TicketStar at 800.895.0071, or online at TicketStar.com.
Ticket prices for the contest are $15 for adults, $4 for youth (17 and under) and $4 for UW-Green Bay students.
