Five Nordic Ski Student-Athletes Named to All-Academic Ski Team

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA) announced its 2014 National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, and Green Bay had five student-athletes honored.

Sophomore Katie Burger (Hayward, Wis.), junior Hanne Guthrie (Chanhassen, Minn.), sophomore Ben Lindberg (Rochester, Minn.), freshman Kyle Marshall (Roseville, Minn.) and junior Chris Nichols (Wausau, Wis.) were all recognized for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Skiers must also have competed in an NCAA regional competition and participate in one of the three skiing conference nationally which qualify its skiers to the NCAA Championships each season.

A total of 225 skiers from 30 schools in three regions were honored. The Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) had 57 honorees from eight schools, including the five from Green Bay.
