GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Coming off of two top-10 finishes at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Championships last weekend, Green Bay junior Kailey Mucha (Soldotna, Alaska) was named to the women’s All-CCSA Second Team, as announced by the conference after its weekend championships.
Mucha helped lead the Phoenix to a fifth place finish at the conference championships hosted by Michigan Tech last weekend, posting two top-10 finishes. In Saturday’s 5k classic she crossed the finish line in 10th place with a time of 12:37.8 and followed that with a sixth-place finish in Sunday’s 15k freestyle with a time of 37:06.3.
“It’s really good to see consistency with Kailey and her selection to the second team displays this,” head coach Steve Teclaw said. “This season she has become much more confident on the race course and her improvement in skating has helped a lot. Her attitude and work ethic is helping to set the tone for our women’s team.”
