Men's Soccer Welcomes Drake on Tuesday Afternoon
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s soccer team returns to Aldo Santaga Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, hosting Drake University at 2:30 p.m.
The game is the first of two at home for the Phoenix this week, as they also host Detroit on Saturday. Green Bay has played seven of its last eight contests on the road. The Phoenix went 3-3-2 during the span, and saw a string of five unbeaten come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 loss at Cleveland State.
Saturday’s contest will be the sixth meeting between the two teams, with the Phoenix owning a 4-1-0 advantage in the all-time series. Green Bay won the first four matchups, while Drake won the last one, a 1-0 final during the 2008 season.
Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) continues to lead the team and conference with 20 points on eight goals and four assists. Lawrence Talery (Coon Rapids, Minn.) has a team-best five assists, the second-best total in the Horizon League. Kyle Ihn (Wales, Wis.) has appeared in nine of 11 matches this season, posting a 1.79 goals-against average and a .695 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Roster Schedule Stats
Drake is 5-5-2 this season, most recently dropping a 2-0 decision to Missouri State in MVC action. The Bulldogs entered last week with a five-game unbeaten streak before losing two in a row.
Danton Irelan leads the team with nine points (4g, 2a), while Ben LeMay has a team-best three assists. Darrin MacLeod has seen the majority of time in net for the Bulldogs, recoding a 0.80 goals-against average and a .846 save percentage.
