GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Junior Grace Abitz (Appleton, Wis.) paced the Green Bay women's golf team as it competed in the 2012 Cougar Golf Classic hosted by Chicago State Sept. 17 and 18. Indiana State took the title at the two-round, par-72 competition held at Harborside International Golf Course in Chicago.
Abitz posted rounds of 83 and 84 to finish with a total of 167, good for a tie for 49th place. Teammate Katie Pockrandt (Eau Claire, Wis.) finished one stroke behind her with rounds of 87 and 81 to finish tied for 52nd place. Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.) posted Green Bay's best round of the day with a 79 and rounded out the day with a second-round 90 to finish tied for 55th with a 169.
Green Bay will be back in action Oct. 7-9 at the Butler Fall Invitational held at the Highland Country Club in Indianapolis.
