GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Once again, Rahmon Fletcher and Bryquis 'Bree' Perine will be roommates. Once again, Fletcher and Perine will be on the basketball court together as teammates. This time around, however, the city will not be Green Bay, Wis., and the arena will not be the Resch Center.

Fletcher and Perine, former Green Bay standouts from 2007-11, have signed contracts to play professional basketball with Stepco BSW, a member of Holland's Dutch League located in Weert, The Netherlands. The city of Weert is located in the South of Holland, approximately an hour and a half from Amsterdam.

Not only will Fletcher and Perine be wearing the same uniform once again, the duo will be sharing an apartment, just like they did at UW-Green Bay's Harden Hall. Fletcher and Perine graduated together in May 2011.

Fletcher joined Stepco BSW during the 2011-12 season and averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 assists per game in 16 contests. The Kansas City native started at point guard during his 16 games with the team. Perine played his first season of professional basketball in Hungary, averaging 13.5 points per game in 25 games with two teams - ZTE KK and Kecskemeti.

"It is going to be really fun playing with Bree," Fletcher said. "When your best friend joins the team the chemistry is automatically there. We played together at a high level for four years at Green Bay, so it is like riding a bike being back on the basketball court with him."

Fletcher scored 1,678 points in his four-year career with the Phoenix, a total that ranks fifth all-time. The three-time All-Horizon League performer also ranks second in steals (197), third in games played (128), fifth in assists (438) and sixth in field goals made (633). He averaged 15.7 points per game as a senior in 2010-11.

Perine, who is fourth on the program's games played list, suited up for the Phoenix 127 times in his career. A Milwaukee native, Perine finished his career in 2011 after scoring 978 points and dishing out 312 assists.

"It is a privilege to continue to play professional basketball overseas," Fletcher said. "Overall, my first year was a pretty solid and definitely a learning experience with a different country, a different culture and a different level of basketball. The coaching staff at Green Bay really prepared us on and off the court with instilling a work ethic and teaching us to budget our time, and I know we are both grateful for that."

Fletcher and Perine begin practice today, and Holland's Dutch League's regular season runs from October to April.  There are 10 teams in the league and all games are played within Holland.

"It's exciting to see Rahmon and Bree back on the court together," said Green Bay head coach Brian Wardle. "They both had impressive first seasons playing professionally overseas and were great representatives of our program and university. Getting to play professional basketball is a dream come true for both of them, and I know going through that experience together on and off the court will only make it that much more special."
