Sarah Rauen
Position: Assistant Coach

Sarah Rauen is in her third season overall on the Green Bay staff and her first as the top assistant coach with the program. Rauen was promoted to the top assistant spot in August 2011 after spending the 2010 season as a part-time assistant coach.

Rauen played for Kirch as a member of the Green Bay volleyball team from 2003-07, playing for four seasons and serving as a student assistant coach in 2007. During her time in the program, she was a two-time team captain (2005-06) and a two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week. The defensive specialist is also second all-time in career digs at Green Bay with 1,519 and was part of Green Bay's 2003 Horizon League championship team.

"Sarah has done a great job for us in a part-time role and I'm looking forward to seeing the kind of impact she can make in the full-time position," said Kirch. "As a former player, she knows what it means to be a part of the Green Bay volleyball program and she has helped instill that pride in our current roster. She was on our Horizon League championship team, so she knows what it takes to win. She has a strong desire to be a college volleyball coach and she has what it takes to be successful in this profession."

Aside from her duties as a part-time assistant at Green Bay, Rauen has also worked as the general manager of Graystone Ale House and as a manager for The Bar, Inc. Prior to joining the staff at Green Bay last season, Rauen worked as an assistant coach in the De Pere School District from 2008-10.

Rauen graduated Magna Cum Laude from UW-Green Bay in Dec. 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. She had academic honors in each semester, was Academic All-Horizon League and was on the Horizon League Honor Roll multiple times. In 2006, she was named CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District.

"I am very excited to work with Debbie and continue to reinvest in a volleyball program that I have a lot of pride in," said Rauen. "We have a great group of returning players who have the ability to take this program to new heights, and I can't wait to continue to work with them in this capacity.  This was a great place to play, and I am looking forward continuing my coaching career at Green Bay."
