April 5, 2010 - After an impressive 10th-place finish in his fourth NCAA National Skiing Championship, senior Santiago Ocariz (Spooner, Wis.) has been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association's Male Athlete of the Year while Coach Butch Reimer was named the Male Coach of the Year.
Ocariz earned a spot on the All-American team at the NCAA National Competition, finishing higher than any skier in the history of the Green Bay program. Ocariz was the top collegiate skier at U.S. Nationals in January and finished the season as the top point-getter on the All-CCSA team.
Coach Butch Reimer is in his fourth year of his second stint with Green Bay and is assisted by Steve Teclaw. The 2009-10 Nordic Skiing season was one of the most successful on record in Phoenix history.
