VIDEO: Three Jerseys, One Gutsy Effort for Sykes
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Due to a collision and a cut in his head which left not one but two uniforms bloodied, freshman Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) sported three different jerseys on Saturday night in Green Bay's 80-68 win over Butler.

Sykes not only scored in all three jerseys he wore, he also handed out at least one assist in each of them. In #24, Sykes had four points and four assists. In #1, he totaled four points and an assist. And, while wearing #11 in crunch time over the final 12 minutes while helping the Phoenix turn a three-point lead into a 12-point win, Sykes had six points and two assists. All told, Sykes had 14 points and seven assists while playing 29 minutes.
The performance, minus the wardrobe changes, was nothing new of late for Sykes, who has averaged 13.7 points and 4.1 assists and scored in double figures seven times in eight games since turning 18 on Dec. 30. That includes a season-high 20 point effort against Milwaukee, who Green Bay hosts this Saturday at 1 p.m.
Despite his youth, Sykes has also handled the ball extremely well while running the Phoenix offense. Among the 10 Horizon League starting point guards, only Youngstown State's Kendrick Perry has committed fewer turnovers than Sykes. He leads all freshmen in points, assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
