Nelson Pouliot Joins Staff as Director of the Phoenix Fund
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Nelson Pouliot has been named Director of the Phoenix Fund at Green Bay, Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie announced on Monday. Pouliot will assist in the development of annual giving goals and strategies for the Green Bay Athletics Department and the Phoenix Fund.
“We are thrilled Nelson will be joining the Green Bay Athletics team. He not only brings a strong skillset to the position from his roles at Oral Roberts University, Oakland University and Lindsey Wilson College but also has the energy and team-player mindset we know will help elevate the department,” said Molly Vandervest, Assistant Athletic Director for Development.
Pouliot joins the Green Bay staff from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he served as the Executive Director of the Golden Eagle Club. The Golden Eagle Club operates similar to the Phoenix Fund, serving as the lead fundraising club for their athletic department. During Pouliot’s time at ORU he helped in raising the highest record giving to ORU Athletics, achieved new Scholarship Funds and spearheaded the successful “Drive for 5” campaign.
“I would first like to thank Mary Ellen Gillespie and Molly Vandervest for this incredible opportunity to join the team and serve the student-athletes, coaches and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. I am so honored to be able to work side-by-side with the team and continue to build the rich traditions already established here at Green Bay. I look forward to future conversations with the donors and supporters as well as the various constituents across the campus and Brown County community,” said Pouliot.
He will also organize and execute special events to assist in fundraising activities for the department, while helping design a stewardship plan for the Phoenix Fund.
A native of Michigan, Pouliot also spent time at Oakland University and Lindsey Wilson College. During his three-year stay at Oakland, he served as the Interim Coordinator of Golden Grizzlies Athletic Fund and VIP Programs and assisted with various fundraising goals and objectives.
Pouliot (pronounced POO-lee-ot) received his Bachelor’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University ‘10 in Illinois and his Master’s degree from Oakland University in 2014.
“I would also be remised if I did not thank Tim Johnson, Associate Athletic Director, and everyone with the Golden Eagle Club for their passion and dedication. Without their efforts, we would not have been so successful and I would not have been in position to join the Phoenix family,”
