GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women’s basketball team welcomes in-state rival Milwaukee to the Kress Center on Saturday as the Panthers make the trip up I-43 for a 1 p.m. affair.

Saturday’s game is a Festival Foods Family Game, with youth tickets just $3. There will also be a fan banner giveaway for the first 1,000 fans.

The game will be televised locally on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel 32/1332 HD and will also be available through the Horizon League Network online. Chris Roth and former Green Bay standout player Lydia Bauer will have the call.

Fans can listen live to the game on Green Bay's new radio partner, WNFL 1440 AM. The live audio with Bruce VandenPlas on the call will also be available for free via GreenBayPhoenix.com or on the Green Bay Phoenix App on IOS and Android devices.

Saturday’s contest marks the 75th all-time meeting between the two squads, with the Phoenix leading the series 57-17. Green Bay has won the last 17 matchups dating back to the 2006-07 season, and is 34-4 against Milwaukee at home. The Phoenix has not lost to the Panthers at the Kress Center since it opened in 2007, with the last loss at home coming on Feb. 4, 2006 (67-69). Since that loss, Green Bay has gone on to defeat Milwaukee by double-digits in 11 of 17 contests, including the last 10 consecutive.

Green Bay is coming off of a big 66-50 win over UIC on Wednesday to start Horizon League play. Sophomore Kaili Lukan (Barrie, Ontario) and freshman Tesha Buck (Red Wing, Minn.) both finished with career-high scoring performances, as Lukan had 22 points while Buck added 20, becoming the first Phoenix duo to score 20+ points in the same contest since Megan Lukan (20) and Julie Wojta (29) did it in the Horizon League Championship game against Detroit on March 11, 2012. The last time it occurred during the regular season was on Jan. 27, 2011 when Wojta (20) and Celeste Hoewisch (23) teamed up.

Four different players lead the Phoenix in the top statistical categories, including Kaili Lukan in points (11.3), senior Breannah Ranger in rebounds (7.4), junior Megan Lukan in assists (4.1) and Buck in steals (2.0).

Saturday’s game is the Horizon League opener for the Panthers, who stand at 4-9 overall this season after most recently defeating Omaha 68-48 last Sunday. After starting 2-8, Milwaukee has won two of its last three contests. Three Panthers are averaging double-digit scoring, led by Angela Rodriguez (17.3), Ashley Green (13.9) and Avyanna Young (12.7). Young also leads the team in rebounding (9.8), while Rodriguez has a team-best 5.8 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game.

STARTING FIVE

1. High Scorers: In a 66-50 win over UIC on Wednesday, sophomore Kaili Lukan and freshman Tesha Buck both finished with career-high scoring performances. Lukan had 22 points while Buck added 20, becoming the first Phoenix duo to score 20+ points in the same contest since Megan Lukan (20) and Julie Wojta (29) did it in the Horizon League Championship game against Detroit on March 11, 2012. The last time it occurred during the regular season was on Jan. 27, 2011 when Wojta (20) and Celeste Hoewisch (23) teamed up.

2. Cool Hand Lukan: Coming back from an ACL injury that finished her season early last year, sophomore Kaili Lukan has been making the most of her time on the court this season. Leading the team in scoring for the majority of this season, she has been the leading Phoenix scorer in five contests while posting double-digit efforts in nine games including the last three. Earlier this season against South Dakota State (12/7) she posted her first career double-double, and put a career-high 22 points on the board in a win over UIC last Wednesday.

3. Success Under Borseth: With the win over UIC on Wednesday, head coach Kevin Borseth improved his Horizon League coaching record to 142-13. His teams have now won 37 consecutive Horizon League contests dating back to February 23, 2006, a span that includes perfect 16-0 ledgers the past two seasons of his reign (2006-07 & 2012-13). His last conference loss came against Milwaukee, a team Borseth is 16-6 all-time against, accounting for nearly half of his all-time Horizon League losses (13).

4. Turnover Totals: Strong defensive play while taking care of the ball has been one of the keys to the Phoenix success this season. Green Bay currently averages 13.8 turnovers per game while forcing its competition into 20.6 turnovers per game, a differential of +6.8. Entering the week, Green Bay has a turnover margin of +7.1, good for 12th in the nation.

5. Trophy Buck: Freshman Tesha Buck is making quite an impact in her first season with the Phoenix.  Named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on three occasions this season, her most recent award came after posting a game- and then career-high 17 points and seven rebounds against Wichita State (Dec. 18). She currently leads the league and is 22nd nationally with a 2.5 assist/turnover ratio while also pacing the Phoenix in steals per game (2.0), minutes played (31.3) and standing second in assists per game (3.8).
