GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Green Bay men's soccer standout Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) has been named to the 2012 National
Soccer Coaches Association of America Men's University Division Scholar
All-North/Central Region team in recognition for his performance on the field
and in the classroom, the NSCAA recently announced.
Starting all 16 games as a midfielder
during his junior season in 2012, Krenzien was the only Horizon League player
to be recognized on the NSCAA's first or second teams. He scored two goals and
recorded an assist for five total points last season, and was second on the
team in both shots and shots on goal with 32 and 11. More impressively, he
carries a 3.59 grade point average as a business finance major.
As a team, the Green Bay men's soccer
program achieved a 3.01 GPA for the fall 2012 semester.
Krenzien will be one of three seniors
returning for the Phoenix next season, joined by Ahmad Bah (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and redshirt senior Sabastian Xiong (Cottage Grove, Wis.).
