GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Green Bay looks to start another home winning streak and strengthen its spot in the conference standings on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Detroit to the Resch Center for the Horizon League Game of the Week at 1 p.m. The Phoenix is aiming to bounce back after a heartbreaking 70-68 double overtime loss to Wright State on Thursday night, a setback that snapped Green Bay's seven-game home winning streak.

Saturday will be a Festival Foods Family Game with tickets starting at just $7 for youth and $8 for adults. The first 1,500 youth fans in attendance will receive a Phoenix replica jersey compliments of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. After the game, fans are welcome to the court for Free Throws with the Phoenix.

The Phoenix and Titans played in the Horizon League Game of the Week on Jan. 5 in Detroit, with Green Bay falling 84-76. Sophomore Greg Mays (Chicago, Ill.) posted his career high in scoring that afternoon, tallying 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, including five dunks. The Phoenix held Detroit to just 37.5 percent shooting but Detroit made 38-of-42 free throws.

Both teams have a First-Team All-Horizon League performer, with Detroit's Ray McCallum averaging 18.5 points per game to lead the conference and Green Bay's Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) posting 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.

FOLLOW THE PHOENIX: For fans unable to make it to the Resch Center on Saturday afternoon, the contest will be live on Time Warner Cable's Sports32 and on the Horizon League Network. The televised contest will have Jim Barbar as the play-by-play announcer and David Kaplan as the color analyst. It is also the team's fourth appearance on the Horizon League Game of the Week.

The game will also be carried live by WDUZ The Fan 1400 AM and online at thefan1075.com. ALUMNI WEEKEND: Prior to the Green Bay-Detroit game, numerous former Phoenix players will participate in the Alumni Game at the Resch Center at 10 a.m. Among the former Phoenix players expected to participate are: Jeff Nordgaard, Wayne Walker, Ryan Borowicz, Logan Vander Velden, Paul Kraft and Eric Valentin. All fans are welcome to attend the contest.

At halftime of the men's basketball game, the Phoenix alums in attendance will be announced, and a special recognition will be made in honor of head coach Dave Buss and the 1977-78 and 1978-89 Division II National Runner-Up teams.

THREE-POINT PLAY
1. INSIDE THE SERIES: Detroit holds a 24-20 edge in the series with Green Bay, but the Phoenix has won 12 of the 20 meetings in Green Bay. The Phoenix has won four of the past five home games in the series.

2. REBOUNDING ROOKIE: Freshman Jordan Fouse (Racine, Wis.) has proven himself to be one of the best rebounders and defensive players in the Horizon League. The 6-foot-7 forward is second in the conference in rebounds per game (7.7), third in blocks per game (1.5) and tied for third in steals per game. After a career-high 15 rebounds on Thursday, Fouse has now grabbed more rebounds (184) than any freshman in the program's Division I history. He is on pace to break Green Bay's 44-year old record, set by Dennis Woeffler (209) in the program's first season, 1969-70.

3. BLOCK PARTY: Getting three from Fouse and three from senior Brennan Cougill (Sioux City, Iowa), Green Bay had 10 blocks on Thursday night, tied for the second most in program history. With Brown (39), Fouse (37), Mays (17) and Cougill all in double figures, the Phoenix has now swatted 114 shots on the season. That total is the third-most all-time, behind only the last two seasons - 142 in 2011-12 and 119 in 2012-13.      

PHOENIX NOTES
• THIS YEAR'S MEETING: In Detroit's 84-76 win on Jan. 5 at Calihan Hall, Green Bay shot 52.7 percent from the field, put four players in double figures, had a plus-seven rebounding margin and limited Detroit to just 37.5 percent shooting. However, the Phoenix could not overcome the free-throw differential, with the Titans making 38-of-42 at the line while Green Bay hit 14-of-19. The Phoenix got 21 points from sophomore Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) and a career-high 18 from Mays.

• GLASS CLEANERS: Led by the freshman Fouse, who is averaging 8.6 rebounds per game in league play, Green Bay is the top rebounding team in Horizon League action with a rebounding margin of plus-6.1. With three players (Fouse, Brown, Cougill) in the top-six in the conference overall in rebounding, the Phoenix is second for the season in rebounding margin (+4.4).

• DEFEND THE HORIZON: The Phoenix has been among the league's best defensive teams in league play. Through 11 games, Green Bay leads the conference in scoring defense (60.9), field goal percentage defense (.383) and blocked shots (5.9).

• STILL ON GUARD: In Green Bay's six league wins, the Phoenix has not allowed more than 63 points and has a scoring defense of 53.2. The team's victory margin is 13.8 and it has made nearly twice as many free throws (102-52). Those five opponents are shooting just 35.9 percent from the field and are being outrebounded by 10.0 boards per game. In its five HL losses, Green Bay is allowing 70.2 points per game and 41.0 percent shooting. The Phoenix rebounding margin dips to just plus-1.4 and its opponents have made 20 more free throws.

• FREE AND EASY: Green Bay is second in the Horizon League and its 74.5 percent from the line ranks tied for 28h nationally. The Phoenix is 398-534 on the season and also leads the Horizon League in free throws made. Only No. 1 Indiana has made more free throws among teams ranked in the top-30 in free-throw percentage. Among Horizon League leaders, Cougill (.840, 42-50) and Sykes (.811, 107-132) rank sixth and 10th, respectively, in free-throw percentage.

• BROWN'S GRAND NIGHT: Brown sparked Green Bay's dominant second half on Jan. 25 at Milwaukee, scoring 15 of his 23 points. The 7-foot-1 big man surpassed the 1,000-career point mark in the process to become the 25th member of the program's 1,000-point club. On Jan. 28, Brown was recognized for his strong play against Valpo and Milwaukee when he was named Horizon League Player of the Week (20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks per game). The junior is averaging 16.9 points in the past eight games.
