GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's
swimming and diving team had a winner in 11 of 16 events on Saturday afternoon as
the Phoenix rolled past Youngstown State 175-123 in a Horizon League dual meet
at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium.
Senior Megan Burley (Hazelhurst, Wis.) and
junior Parker Wolf (Kohler, Wis.) both
had a pair of individual wins to pace the Phoenix, as Burley won the 200-yard
butterfly (2:08.61) and 400 IM (4:36.35) and Wolf took the 100 (53.95) and 200
(1:56.69) freestyle races. Wolf was also on Green Bay's first-place 200
freestyle relay team, which touched in at 1:39.03 in the meet's final event.
Dana Iverson
(Kenosha, Wis.) was also part of three wins on Saturday, joining Wolf on the victorious
200 free relay squad while also helping the 400 medley relay team to a win in
the meet's opening race. The sophomore then corralled an individual win in the
50 free, finishing in 25.40.
Other individual winners
for the Phoenix were Anna Gomez (Burlington,
Wis.) in the 1650 free (17:52.62), Marlee
Kiander (Tomahawk, Wis.) in the 100 breast (1:07.25), Kendra Rottier (Green Bay, Wis.) in the 500 free (5:12.14) and Heather Bodin (Maple Grove, Minn.) in
the 100 butterfly (58.73).
The Green Bay women are
next in action on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they host in-state rival Milwaukee for
Senior Day at 2 p.m. The men's squad is back in action tomorrow in Indianapolis
at the Butler Invitational.
