GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's and women's swimming and diving
teams wrapped up the two-day, three-session Phoenix 1-2-3 meet on Saturday
evening, with the women's squad claiming the team title and the men's team
placing second in the three-team field.
The Phoenix 1-2-3 featured
schools from all three NCAA divisions, as Green Bay (Division I), St. Cloud
State (Division II) and UW-Whitewater (Division III) all competed at the Peter
F. Dorschel Natatorium. The Phoenix won 17 of 20 events on the women's side,
finishing with a first-place score of 904, while the men's team had a winner in
five events and finished just 24 points back of the Division II power Huskies.
Junior Parker Wolf (Kohler, Wis.) paced the Phoenix women with six victories
over the two days, swimming to a pair of individual wins while also participating
on four winning relay teams. Wolf won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races in
24.25 and 53.27, and was a member of Green Bay's victorious 200 free (1:38.21),
400 medley (3:57.95), 200 medley (1:49.15) and 400 free (3:35.62) relays.
Senior Heather Bodin (Maple Grove, Minn.) won
five total events, joining Wolf on the winning 400 free, 400 medley and 200
medley relays, while also earning individual wins in the 200 IM (2:08.65) and 100
butterfly (58.66). Junior Kendra Rottier
(Green Bay, Wis.) was a four-time winner, taking the 500 free (5:07.74), 1650
free (17:32.13) and 200 fly (2:10.41), and also swimming on the first-place 800
free relay (7:53.62).
Junior Robert Miner (Madison, Wis.) won a pair
of individual races on the men's side, cruising to victory in the 100 (51.90)
and 200 (1:56.57) butterfly events. Senior Mitchell Spaeth (Fredonia, Wis.) also claimed an individual victory for the Phoenix
men, taking the 3-meter diving event with a score of 317.90.
The Green Bay swimming and
diving teams return to action on Nov. 30 at the three-day House of Champions
Invitational, hosted by IUPUI in Indianapolis.
