GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Head coach Brian Wardle and the Green Bay men's basketball team will hold a Green and White scrimmage on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Kress Events Center, allowing Phoenix fans the first glimpse at the 2012-13 squad in action. The practice will conclude with a three-point contest and a slam dunk contest.

Wardle and the Phoenix started practice on Oct. 15 and have been preparing since for the upcoming season. Green Bay will host one exhibition game this year when St. Norbert College visits the Kress Center on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. To see the team's full schedule for 2012-13, click here.

The Green and White scrimmage is part of Spirit Week on UW-Green Bay's campus, which also includes a women's soccer game against Milwaukee at 7 p.m. on Friday, a home swimming and diving meet against Cleveland State at 12 p.m. and a men's soccer game against UIC at 7 p.m.

At 5 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a tailgate event at the Kress Center for students and the public. The general public can eat at the tailgate for just $2.90. For a complete list of Spirit Week activities, click here.

The Phoenix, who is led by Preseason All-Horizon League selections Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) and Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.), were picked to finish in third place in the Horizon League Preseason Poll.

Brown, Sykes and the rest of the Phoenix will all be on display on Saturday, and it will also be the first chance to see the team's newcomers in action, including freshmen Nick Arenz (Onalaska, Wis.), Ryan Bross (Menomonee Falls, Wis.), Jordan Fouse (Racine, Wis.) and Carrington Love (Milwaukee, Wis.) and transfers Sultan Muhammad (Chicago, Ill.) and Alfonzo McKinnie (Chicago, Ill.).

Muhammad is eligible to play immediately after transferring from South Suburban Community College, but McKinnie will have to sit down after joining the Phoenix from Eastern Illinois. Saturday will be the lone chance to see the 6-foot-8 McKinnie play this season.
