GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - For the first time since Aug. 31, the
Green Bay (2-3-1, 0-1) men's soccer team will play a contest on its home field.
The Phoenix hosts SIU-Edwardsville (5-2-0) Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Aldo Santaga Stadium
at 7 p.m. Both teams enter the contest looking to avenge losses suffered Sept.
14 as Green Bay fell 2-1 in its Horizon League opener at Detroit (3-4-0, 1-0)
while SIUE was shut out 2-0 at No. 16 Indiana (5-1-1).
Tuesday's game is the first of two home
games for the Phoenix during the month of September who recently wrapped up its
longest road trip of the season. It will be a short visit for Green Bay as it
heads to the Oregon State Tournament Sept. 21-23.
With a win over SIUE Green Bay would
move to .500 on the season and 3-1 on its home field.
Green Bay continues to be led in
scoring by sophomore Kirby Allen (Appleton, Wis.) who has three goals, one
assist and seven points on the season. Alonso Flores (Chicago, Ill.) and Sam
Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) have each added one goal while Whitney Browne (Brooklyn
Park, Minn.) and Ahmad Bah (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) lead the Phoenix with 13
shots each.
Senior goalkeeper Ryan Wehking (St.
Louis, Mo.) has not been in the net for the Phoenix since suffering an ankle
injury Aug. 31 but anticipates returning to the team soon.
SCOUTING SIU-EDWARDSVILLE... The Cougars are ranked No. 25 in this week's College Soccer
News Poll and No. 39 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com poll. SIUE is being led by

Cougars are ranked in the top 15 in the nation in the statistic while being
backed by junior goalkeeper John Berner.

Conference standings in the win column. Both of the Cougars losses have come on
the road to nationally-ranked teams (Akron and Indiana).
