GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Taylor Kasal
has signed a national letter of intent (NLI) to play volleyball at Green Bay,
head coach Debbie Kirch announced on
Thursday. Kasal, a native of Westmont, Ill., becomes the fifth member of the
Phoenix Class of 2012 recruiting class.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Phoenix
family," Kasal said. "As a competitor, I am willing to do what it takes to help
my team achieve and exceed our goals. I thank Coach Kirch for giving me
this opportunity to play volleyball at Green Bay."
Kasal is a 6-foot setter that attends Downers Grove
North High School and 1st Alliance Volleyball Club. As a junior and a senior,
Kasal was named to the West Suburban Silver Division All-Conference. Kasal was
also named to the DuPage County Herald
All-Area Team in both seasons and was an honorable mention all-state selection
by the Chicago Tribune.
"Taylor is the kind of utility player we needed to round
out that incoming class," Kirch said. "She adds depth in just about every
position for us with one player and she can transition from one position to
another very smoothly. What really impressed me about Taylor when I watched her
play was her confidence and her will to win."
Kasal will join Mikaela
Gunderson (Casco, Wis.), Sophie Jaskulske (Maplewood, Minn.), Becca
Mastay (Pulaski, Wis.) and Stefanie Siroin (Herbster, Wis.) to make up the class of 2012. To read more

"I am really excited about what this class will bring
to our program," Kirch added. "It is a very athletic group that we are adding
covers just about every position on the floor. They can make an impact in many
areas for us."
