FORT WAYNE, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's golf team concluded its participation at the IPFW Spring Classic on Monday, placing 10th out of 10 teams at Pine Valley Golf Course in Fort Wayne.
Junior Christina De Boer (Onalaska, Wis.) was the top performer for the Phoenix, finishing in a tie for 29th with a 36-hole total of 172 (86-86, +30) on the par 71 course. Senior Stephanie Fifield (Oconto Falls, Wis.) carded a team-best 85 in the opening round on Sunday en route to a 36th-place finish (175, +33) in the 64-player field.
Rounding out the top five for the Phoenix were sophomore Grace Abitz (Appleton, Wis.), who finished tied for 44th (179), senior Eleanor Yorobe (Bloomington, Minn.), who tied for 50th (183) and sophomore Molly Fassbinder (Hudson, Wis.), who finished 61st (193).
The Phoenix finished with a team total of 704, 17 shots back of ninth-place Nebraska-Omaha (687).
The Green Bay women are next in action on April 21-22 at the Loyola Invitational at the Golf Club of Illinois in Algonquin, Ill.
