Green Bay SAAC Hosts Special Olympics Basketball Tournament

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), along with the UW-Green Bay Black Student Union hosted the Special Olympics Phoenix Invite basketball tournament on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Kress Events Center. The tournament featured the participation of 13 teams and approximately 150 Special Olympians.

The event began with a welcome message from Green Bay women's basketball head coach Matt Bollant, and concluded with games featuring both Phoenix student-athletes and Special Olympians. All participants were invited to attend the Green Bay women's basketball game against Wright State that afternoon, with many being recognized on court during halftime.
