GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in their final home event of the 2011-12 season on Saturday - a Senior Day dual meet against Horizon League opponent UIC at the Peter F. Dorschel Natatorium. The women's contest ended in a rare tie (121-121), while the Flames defeated the Phoenix on the men's side 158-83.

UIC's women had seven first-place finishes in the draw, while Green Bay had a winner in six of the meet's 13 women's events. On the men's side, the Flames took all but one event in the victory. The Phoenix women move to 5-1-1 in dual meets this season, while the men's squad falls to 3-3.

Sophomore Kendra Rottier (Green Bay, Wis.) was a two-time winner for the Phoenix women, taking the 1650-yard freestyle in 17:15.45 before winning the 200 butterfly in 2:07.18.

Also racing to victories for the Green Bay women were Amanda Walker (Sun Prairie, Wis.) in the 200 free (1:54.56), Emilee Harry (Sheboygan, Wis.) in the 50 free (24.56) and Amber Bartholomew (Alexandria, Minn.) in the 200 IM (2:06.56).

Sophomore Carrie Dinelli (Northbrook, Ill.) had a strong day on the diving boards for Green Bay, picking up first-place and a third-place finishes. Dinelli posted a personal-best score of 261.90 en route to winning the 3-meter event, while her 1-meter score of 227.03 was just two points out of first place.

Collecting the lone win for the Phoenix men was junior Tyler Evans (Lodi, Wis.), who placed first in the 100 free in 46.90. Evans also picked up a second-place finish in the 200 free, touching in less than a second behind UIC's Daniel Corley (1:42.58) in 1:43.15.

The Phoenix men and women have a trio of road dual meets to finish the regular season, beginning with a trip to Western Illinois next Thursday. Green Bay then travels to Wisconsin (Jan. 21) and Milwaukee (Feb. 4) before competing in the Horizon League Championships Feb. 22-25 in Milwaukee, Wis.

SENIOR DAY: The Phoenix swimming and diving program honored its seven seniors Saturday afternoon: Amber Bartholomew (Alexandria, Minn.), Amy Burback (Waunakee, Wis.), Lauren Caruso (DeForest, Wis.), Hannah Egger (Marshfield, Wis.), Nicole Gill (Arlington Heights, Ill.), Alex Hallam (Wausau, Wis.) and Daniel Pogue (Chisholm, Minn.).
