MACOMB, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Through one round of the 54-hole Beu/Massato
Invitational hosted by Western Illinois, the Green Bay men's golf team sits in
sixth place in a field of 16 teams. The second round is nearly complete but was
suspended due to darkness. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the completion
of round two and the final 18 holes.
The
Phoenix finished the day with a team score of 17-over 305, 11 strokes behind
the host and first-round leader, Western Illinois. The Leathernecks are at six-over
294, good for a five stroke lead over second place. Eastern Illinois
Gino Parrodi is the individual leader for the
tourney after posting a six-under par 66.
Green
Bay had three players tie for team-high honors by carding 76. Seniors Austin Ehlenfeldt (Green Bay, Wis.) and
Chris Pural (Green Bay, Wis.) and sophomore Cam Fuller (Sturgeon
Bay, Wis.) each posted the four-over par rounds to lead the Phoenix and sit in
17th place.
Rounding
out the Phoenix top five were sophomore Chad Ebert (Kenosha, Wis.) with a
five-over par 77 and freshman Sam Weber
(Heartland, Wis.), who carded a 79 and had one of just three eagles on the day
for the field.
