Senior women's swimmer Shannon Demrow (Algonquin, Ill.) recently
finished up her Green Bay career in a grand fashion with a
seventh straight team title at the 2011 Horizon League Championships in Cleveland.
"It is bittersweet," said Demrow. "I am glad to start
the next chapter of my life, but it will be sad not having swimming as
part of it anymore."
Demrow holds the fastest time in the school's history
in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.47 and ranks second on Green
Bay's all-time list in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.92. She
also ranks fourth in the 500 and 1000 freestyle
events with times of 4:59.58 and 10:25.49, respectively. In addition to
Demrow's individual accomplishments, she is also part of the school
record-setting 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams.
"I have had a great experience at Green Bay," said
Demrow. "We train really hard and have had a lot success. I have
improved as an athlete throughout my time here and I give a lot of the
credit to the coaching staff."
In addition to her athletic achievements, Demrow has
also performed well academically throughout her years as a Phoenix. She
is currently pursuing a major in business administration with an
emphasis in marketing and a minor in human development.

One thing that makes me laugh the hardest is...the men's swim team.

My favorite place to eat is...Chipotle.
On my perfect day I would...be sitting on a beach with friends.
The person I most admire is...my mom.
When I was 12 years old, I wanted to be a...veterinarian.
If you look inside my refrigerator you would find...a lot of homemade chocolate chip cookies. I like to eat them cold.
