GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team (3-9-3, 1-5-1
Horizon League) wraps up its 2010 season Sunday afternoon when it hosts Detroit
(7-6-4, 3-3-1 Horizon League) at noon at Santaga Stadium. Sunday is Senior Day
for the Phoenix, as the team will honor its five seniors before the match.
The
Phoenix is coming off a 3-0 loss at Wright State Friday night, a result that eliminated
Green Bay from Horizon League Tournament contention. Green Bay's loss helped Detroit
clinch a spot in the 2010 league tournament, despite the Titans' 3-0 loss at
Milwaukee Friday.
Detroit
has controlled the all-time series with the Phoenix, owning a 16-2-2 advantage
since 1994. Despite the Titans' long-term dominance, Green Bay has performed
well against Detroit the last two seasons under head coach Trevor Warren. Warren's teams are 1-0-1 against Detroit, including
a 2-1 win the last time the two teams played at Santaga Stadium (Oct. 26,
2008).
