GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team (2-7-2, 0-3-0
Horizon League) welcomes Valparaiso (5-6-3, 1-3-0 Horizon League) to Santaga
Stadium Sunday at noon for its penultimate home game of the 2010 season.
The
Phoenix will be wearing pink warm-ups Sunday in support of breast cancer
awareness month as part of Green Bay's Compete to Beat initiative. Sunday is
also Parents Day, as the Green Bay women's soccer team will recognize all the
parents in attendance.
Both
teams enter Sunday's match looking to rebound after their worst defeats of the
2010 season. Green Bay fell 3-0 against Butler Friday night. Prior to Friday,
the Phoenix had not allowed more than a single goal in any game this season. The
Crusaders come to Green Bay after a 5-0 loss to Milwaukee on Friday.
Green
Bay owns an 8-2-1 advantage in the all-time series against Valparaiso. The last
time the two teams met at Santaga Stadium the game ended in a 0-0 overtime tie
(Oct. 24, 2008).

The Phoenix begins a three-match road trip on Friday, Oct. 15 when it travels
downstate to take on Milwaukee at 7 p.m. Green Bay then faces Loyola (Oct. 19)
and Wright State (Oct. 22) before returning to Santaga Stadium on Oct. 24 for
its final regular season home game against Detroit.
