- The Green Bay men's and women golf
teams competed over the weekend in a triangular match against Valparaiso and
Chicago State, with freshman Dan Ozga's
(Edgerton, Wis.) medalist performance leading the men to a victory. On the men's
side, the Phoenix shot an eight-over par 292 at Eagle Creek Golf Course in
Indianapolis, edging Valparaiso by two shots.
Ozga
carded an even-par 71 in the event, defeating Valparaiso's Austin Gaugert and
Josh Kalita by one shot. Green Bay's Austin
Ehlenfeldt (Green Bay, Wis.) shot a one-over 73 to finish alone in fourth
place. Senior Chris Pural (Green
Bay, Wis.) and freshman Sam Weber (Heartland,
Wis.) were just one shot back in a tie for fifth after a pair of 74s.
On
the women's side, Green Bay recorded a +47, 335 to finish behind both Chicago
State and Valparaiso. Sophomore Christina
DeBoer (Onalaska, Wis.) led the
Phoenix, tying for fifth place with an eight-over par 80. Nicole Westcott (Mequon, Wis.) shot a 12-over 84 to tie for eighth while
senior Ellyn Hansen (Milton, Wis.)
tied for 10th after an 85. Freshman Cassandra
Marschall (Marshfield, Wis.) rounded out the Green Bay scoring rounds with
an 86.
Both
teams are again in action at Eagle Creek this Monday and Tuesday, competing in
the Butler Invitational. Shotgun starts at 7:30 will begin action each day.
