GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team (2-4-2) has
completed its non-conference slate and is set to begin Horizon League play
Friday evening at Cleveland State (4-4-2). Game time is set for 6 p.m. CT at
Krenzler Field.
The
Phoenix has controlled the all-time series with the Vikings, owning a 5-1-0
advantage since the first meeting in 2004. Most recently, Green Bay defeated
Cleveland State 5-1 at Santaga Stadium last season on Oct. 11.
Green
Bay is coming off a pair of tough 1-0 road losses at Western Illinois and
Northern Illinois last week. The Phoenix is in the middle of its longest road
trip of the 2010 season, facing four straight opponents away from home.
Cleveland State enters Friday's match after a three-game road trip of its own,
a stretch in which the Vikings went 0-3-0 against Bowling Green, Washington and
Seattle University.
Sitting at the top: Through eight games and 760 minutes of soccer, Green Bay has faced 60
shots on goal and allowed just four scores. The squad's save percentage of 93.3
percent is tied for first nationally with New Mexico. The Phoenix has not
allowed more than a single goal in any game and has collected four shutouts.
