INDIANAPOLIS
- Five University of Wisconsin-Green Bay student-athletes have been named to
the Horizon League's 2009-10 Winter Academic All-League Teams, the conference
office announced Tuesday.
Three
members of the Horizon League champion women's swimming and diving team highlighted
the Phoenix honorees. Seniors Allison Thut (Green Bay, Wis.) and Lauren McGraw
(Woodbury, Minn.), along with junior Katelyn Bodin (Maple Grove, Minn.), each
earned a spot on the swimming squad. Thut claimed her third straight berth on
the academic team, while Bodin was honored for the second consecutive season.
On
the men's side, swimmer Travis Mathers (Baraboo, Wis.) was named to the squad
for the third consecutive season. In addition, Kayla Tetschlag (Sheboygan,
Wis.) of the regular-season league champion women's basketball team continued
to add to her postseason accolades.
A
total of 74 student-athletes from six winter sports were honored in balloting
by the league's faculty athletics representatives and sports information
directors from among 139 nominations.
