GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Green
Bay Athletics Department had 63 student-athletes honored as members of the 2009
Horizon League Fall Academic Honor Roll, the league office has announced. Each
of the school's 14 league-sponsored sports was represented by at least one
Phoenix student-athlete, and more than one quarter of the university's total
student-athletes were named to the list.
The men's soccer team racked up the most
honor roll members, totaling 11. That group was followed by volleyball (7) and women's
soccer (6). Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams had five
honorees, as did women's basketball.
Candidates for the Horizon League Academic
Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participation in at
least one of the league's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season;
2) completion of three semesters as a full-time student at the same member
institution; and 3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a
4.00 scale) as of Dec. 31, 2009.
