Bay Junior midfielder JC Banks (Milwaukee, Wis.) has been named to the Third
Team All-America by College Soccer News.
The Horizon League Player and Offensive Player of the Year
finished the season ranked fifth in the nation in points per game (1.8) and
ninth in goals per game (0.65).
"JC deserves this great recognition for an outstanding
season and is keeping good company with the other players selected," said head
coach Tom Poitras.
Banks helped lead Green Bay to their first ever Horizon
League Tournament Championship and first trip to the NCAA tournament in 26
years. He led his Phoenix squad in points (36), assists (10), goals (13) while efforting a team high 73 shots in 20 games.
"JC is one of the best players in the country and we look
forward to seeing how much better he will be next season," said Poitras.
In addition to the recognition from College Soccer News, Banks
was named to the second team All-Region for the Great Lakes Region and was
named to the second team of the year by Goal.com.
