Chris Seidl

Chris Seidl is entering his second year as an assistant coach for the Phoenix volleyball program in 2017, after helping guide the 2016 team to the most wins since 2003 and another dramatic improvement on the court.

His contributions on the sidelines helped the Phoenix to 21 wins overall and 12 wins in Horizon League play, the most in program history. Additionally, he helped Sean Burdette become the first coach in program history to earn Horizon League Coach of the Year honors. 

Seidl joined the Green Bay staff in summer of 2016, after spending two seasons as the head assistant at Lakeland University. 

Seidl aided Lakeland to 35 wins in two years, including an impressive 15-7 mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. He also assisted the Muskies to two consecutive NAAC tournament berths in 2014 and 2015.

As defensive coordinator for the Muskies, Seidl oversaw decorated libero Caleigh Galvan’s development into the 2014 & 2015 NAAC Defensive Player of Year. Galvan finished ranked second nationally in NCAA DIII in total digs in 2015 and broke numerous school records including most digs in school history with a total of 2,236 digs.

Seidl has had extensive experience coaching volleyball at the club and high school levels. At the club level he has coached with Wisconsin Volleyball Academy in Appleton since 2008, coaching the top 18’s level team the past four years. He has led three teams to top 20 finishes at the AAU national championships in Orlando, Fla and a 5th place finish at USAV Nationals in 2016.

Before joining Lakleland, Seidl coached the boys volleyball team at Kimberly High School in 2012 & 2013, finishing with a 44-21-1 record. He coached a pair of WIAA all-state selections and eight all-conference performers.

Seidl played collegiate club volleyball at St. Norbert College, and in fact was the co-founder of the program and served as its president while playing from 2009-12. He was a two-time First Team All-Wisconsin Volleyball Conference selection as an Outside Hitter, as well as an academic dean’s list student.
Seidl is a native of Kimberly, Wis., where he was a WIAA all-state outside hitter while playing in high school. He received his bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert in business administration in May 2012 and currently resides in Green Bay.
