Jeannette Waldo
Position: Associate Head Coach
Experience: 2 Years

Jeannette Waldo is entering her third year as the assistant coach of the Phoenix volleyball team in 2016, after aiding Green Bay to a 12-win improvement in 2015, including signature wins against Pac-12 and Mountain West opponents Cal and UNLV. Despite a quarterfinal loss to Northern Kentucky in the Horizon League Tournament, the Phoenix posted an overall record of 17-13 under head coach Sean Burdette and Waldo's leadership last season— more than tripling its 2014 win total (5)— which marked the highest single-season win increase (12) in program history since becoming a Division I institution.

Additionally, Waldo oversaw senior libero Jillian Bauer’s development into the 2015 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, the second ever player to do so in program history, as well as Lydia DeWeese and Jessica Wolf’s progressions into All-Conference performers. On the recruiting trail, Waldo has shown the ability to secure a number of the state’s top high-school players, including an incoming class featuring a two-time State Champion at DSHA, setter Maddie Yoss.

After spending the past two seasons as an assistant at Belmont University, Waldo joined the Phoenix staff in May 2014.

Waldo aided Belmont to a 19-14 overall record in 2013, including an impressive 12-4 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference. She also assisted the Bruins to an OVC tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2012.

Before taking the job at Belmont, Waldo spent a year as an assistant at the University of Minnesota, where she worked with the 2010 Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year and helped the Gophers advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinals in 2011.

Prior to joining the Gophers, Waldo was an assistant coach at Benedictine College from 2008-11. She also served as the head coach of the junior varsity team at Benedictine College. During her time with the Ravens, she helped the program finish second in the Heart of America conference. While Waldo was with Benedictine, she served as head coach for a year with Team KC Volleyball Club.

She also led the Sandshark Volleyball Club to victory in the Won Gold Heart Challenge, and top finishes in the Power League and Omaha National Qualifier.

A native of Topeka, Kansas, Waldo was the defensive specialist for William Jewell College from 2002-06, where she served as team captain during her junior and senior seasons.
