FARGO, N.D. – The Green Bay Phoenix (5-2) pulled away from North Dakota
State (2-3) for a 71-62 victory Friday night at the Bison Sports Arena
in Fargo, N.D. Green Bay is now an impressive 4-1 away from home this
season and 4-0 in games decided by single digits.
Green Bay committed just five turnovers on the night, and the Bison did not convert any into points. On the other hand, the Phoenix forced 14 miscues and turned them into 15 points. In addition, Green Bay limited North Dakota State into just 32.8 percent shooting (22-for-67). Randy Berry (Plover, Wis.) posted his second consecutive double-double and the fourth of his career by totaling team highs in both points (14) and rebounds (11). He has averaged 14.0 points and 9.3 rebounds over his last three outings. Green Bay had a balanced offensive attack with four players—Berry, Bryquis Perine (13), Troy Cotton (11) and Seth Evans (10)-- in double figures. Green Bay led for the final 32 minutes of the game and had a three-point advantage, 27-24, at intermission. The Phoenix continues play Sunday when it travels to Grand Forks, N.D.
